Suckers Candy Co opened its doors in Toronto Canada’s Greektown in the summer of 1997. Our store specializes in the retail sale of hard to find candy reminiscent of our childhood. Sucker’s buyers pride themselves in meeting up to the challenge of sourcing their customers’ confectionary memories. They test and compare products to ensure that only the best quality available reaches our customers’ lips.
Over the years Suckers has enjoyed a reputation for its ability to source, develop, import and/or package exciting confectionary products which we have also made available to other specialty and chain retailers across Canada – as well as to select U.S. retailers. How Cotton Candy Is Made
The machine used to make cotton candy consists of a small bowl into which sugar is poured and food coloring added. Heaters near the rim melt the sugar and it is spun out through tiny holes where it solidifies in the air and is caught in a large metal bowl. The operator of the machine twirls a stick, a cone, or their gloved hands around the rim of the large catching bowl, gathering the candy into portions. Modern cotton candy machines work in very much the same way as older ones.
